Go-Ped was created in 1985 by Steve Patmont and his family in California, USA. The first model was a folding motorized scooter, that the family manufactured in their garage for their friends and family.

Realizing the business opportunity in such transportation vehicles, the Patmont Motor Werks was created. Keeping manufacturing in the USA (in contrast with most manufacturers), PMW is a renowned player and innovator in the market of portable transportation. They introduced the ESR 750 electric scooter range int 2003, as a green alternative for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint, but still want a motorized transportation experience.

Being an innovative company, PMW owns a number of patents in the industry motorized, electric and self powered personal transport devices.
